Ableworld Congleton Raise Money for Breast Cancer Now

This entry was posted in September 14, 2023

Ableworld Congleton have managed to raise an amazing £40 for the Breast Cancer Now charity.

Paula and Linda from Ableworld Congleton decided to host a Pick and Choose raffle at their store, where someone would pick a number on a poster and the winner would take home a prize. The prize up for grabs was a voucher for fresh fruit & veg, after many people signed up a winner was finally chosen.

The winner of the Fresh Fruit & Veg voucher was Mrs. Welsh who decided to donate her prize to the Old Saw Mill café in town. It was a lovely gesture, one which made us proud to be a part of this amazing community.

We would like to congratulate Paula & Linda for hosting the fundraiser, they have managed to help out two fantastic charities at the same time. Ableworld appreciate the generosity of our customers and both Paula & Linda would like to personally thank all of those who got involved.

We look forward to getting more opportunities to help the surrounding community as well as nationwide, its always great to see people come together to support a great cause.

Ableworld Congleton Easter Raffle

This entry was posted in April 28, 2023

Ableworld Congleton organised a raffle this spring to help them get into the Easter spirit. Its safe to say, spirits were raised along with some money for a fantastic cause.

We decided to draw the winner of the raffle whilst hosting a Coffee morning on the 4th April. Biscuits were broken, cake was devoured and hot cups of tea and coffee were drunk. It was great to see so many familiar faces join us, all we hope is that you enjoyed our time with us.

A big thank you to everyone for making it such a success, we already can’t wait to host another coffee morning in the coming months. Watch this space!

We are proud to announce that we managed to raise a total of £63.30 for the Old Sawmill in Congleton, a fantastic cause that has done so much for our community.

Located just off Antrobus Street the community café is headed up by a group of volunteers. Their mission, to create a safe community hub in which anyone can come and use, it’s a safe space for customers and staff alike. As The Old Sawmill helps to hire those that have struggled to get work, and currently have 4 young staff members that have learning difficulties or disabilities.

From everyone here at Ableworld Congleton, we want to say a big thank you to the Volunteers of The Old Sawmill for doing such a fantastic job. We hope the small amount of money that we raised can be used to help with your efforts and ensure you stay in Congleton for the foreseeable future.

Our mission is to carry on raising money for such great causes. So, please keep an eye out for more fundraising opportunities at Ableworld Congleton and join in on the fun!

Ableworld Visit Community Health & Wellbeing Fayre in Congleton

This entry was posted in April 12, 2023

On the 28th March Ableworld Congleton took part in the Congleton Community Health & Wellbeing Fayre. We want to thank everyone that visited our stall and checked out the various products and services that Ableworld had on show!

We would also like to extend our thanks to the organisers of the Fayre for putting on such an amazing event.

Here at Ableworld Congleton we love to take any opportunity to interact with people in the community, we pride ourselves on teaching people about the amazing products and services that we provide.

Customers were delighted to try out several useful utensils, designed to make everyday tasks incredibly easy for those struggling with their mobility. The interest in our products and service puts a smile on our face, as it lets us know just how important we can be in peoples lives!

It was however, unfortunate to see, so many people share the same views around disability and mobility aids. Many said that they feel embarrassed by their disability and as a result do not wish to be seen using a mobility aide.

We wish to take this moment to promote a healthier outlook on disabilities, if we wish to enjoy our lives we must be accepting. Recognising the disability and accepting it is just one step towards a more enjoyable life, mobility aids are here to help us succeed when our own bodies fail us.

With that being said Ableworld Congleton are here to support you on your journey towards functional independence! Whether you need advice, a friendly chat or looking to purchase your first Mobility Scooter. Our incredible store team are here to help, just pop in to store between 9am-5pm Monday through till Saturdays.

The final takeaway from the fayre was so many people were unfamiliar with the location of our store here in Congleton. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone we are based on the one-way street in the middle of town, 34 Mill Street.

Act Of Kindness Day At Ableworld Congleton

This entry was posted in February 27, 2023

The Random act of Kindness Day is really easy to participate in all you have to do is be kind! The mentality of ‘paying it forward’ is as true and as strong as any moral belief. It happens to be a very important one to Ableworld as we sometimes get to caught up in our own lives. On the 17th of February Ableworld took part in these actions by ‘paying it forward’ by gifting our customers with something a little extra.

It taught us to stop for a moment and reflect on who we are as a company and more importantly who we are as employees. Understanding who we benefit from and thanking those people either in our personal lives or for us thanking customers.

Afterall, customers are the reason behind Ableworlds success and that is clear for us to see.

One store that understood this was our Congleton branch. They decided to surprise two customers, Mrs. Madanayake with a beautiful bunch of flowers when she bought a Riser Recliner chair. Mrs. Madanayake was thrilled with the lovely gift and gets to enjoy their beauty from the comfort of her new chair!

The second customer Mr. Machin received a bouquet of flowers, reluctantly leaving them for his wife to enjoy. However, he is now a proud owner of a Cheshire Deluxe enabling him to enjoy the comforts a riser recliner can provide.

Ableworld Congleton wish to thank Mrs. Madanayake and Mr. Machin for being such wonderful customers and we hope to see them both in the future.

We have enjoyed taking part in such an important day but realise it shouldn’t be left to a day to make us kind. We understand that having the correct mentality of ‘paying it forward’ is what we should strive for in day-to-day life.

So, no matter what day it is, who you may cross and what they mean to you. Be kind and help brighten up someone’s day!
